Update!!
It's been a quite since I've last blogged, so here I am updating what has been happening to my life since!! Hmm... where can I start?? AmericaI went to LA during the hols, for piano that is... (-_-" how sad does that sound??) but it wasn't too bad!! It was a very productive two weeks - practised around 8-9 hours everyday plus lessons with John Perry and Sarkis. The average day at Colburn followed a timetable along these lines: - wake up- find a practise room- lunch- practise some more /get a lesson with someone- go to Robek for juice- practise some more/lesson- dinner (usually at CPK!!! California Pizza Kitchen - there pizzas are soooooo good and their chocolate fudge brownie is THE BEST i've had!!)- Practise some more- Bed time!! Man, is Colburn rich or what?? They can afford to hosue their students in LA apartments right in the middle of the city!!! Two students live in one apartment, with their own bedroom and own bathroom!!! The kitchen and living room and tv are of course shared between two! The students only need to cross the road to get to class and practise rooms!! All of the practise rooms (except one) consists of a grand piano!! Ok, some of them might not be in perfect condition, but still!! And all the piano students get an upright piano to themselves in their apartment!! But have to say, the people who get into Colburn are so good and so freaky!! It was nice seeing people like Dave and John Chen again and meeting funky people like Soo, Makiko, Ryan to name a few!! Although every day was jam-packed with piano stuff, we still managed to fit in a day at Disneyland and half a day of shopping at Beverleys Centre!! T'was funfun!! Need more time to look around LA though!! Summer SchoolOn the morning I got back from LA, i went straight to uni to do my summer course: Along the Silk Road. Some of the stuff we covered were quite interesting, but doing the whole course over 9 days is a bit too hectic - I basically had to cram everything in!! And what the lecturer said about how you have to be ingenius to fail the exam/course totally tells me that i'm ingenius!!! The exam wassooooo NOT easy!! Nevertheless, Esther was there with me the whole time, making the long 10-6 days so much better!!! Gonna miss you when you go, Esther!! I also bumped into Adriana, Johanna, Xiao and a couple of other poeple doing the same course, so that was comforting!! Just having my fingers crossed now that I've passed the course with an ok mark!! Sab's Engagement PartyCONGRATS SABS!!! This is the first engagement party I've been to!! I mean, the first one of my friends... It was nice seeing everyone and talking to all the Pymble girls again!! Still can't believe Tor is gonna do her Dip. Ed!! hehe!! Chinese New YearWell, alot of red pockets!!! Went to the temples on CNY Eve and my hair was covered with ashes the night!! Although I can't wash my hair on CNY, i just had to!! Oooopss... hope i still have a good year ahead of me!! Year 3 String CampIt has been a while since I went back to school, and must i say it was nice indeed!!! It was an early start of 8am, and after getting 4 hours of sleep the night before, i wasn't ready to tolerate spoilt bratty kids!! But thank goodness the violinists i had to look after were really nice and polite (unlike the cellists Joyce had to look after!!! MWAHAHA!!!) I finally get to sit on the audience's seat in the new performing arts centre!!! I've always been backstage or onstage!! It's a real nice building... too bad I left before they finished building it!! CASS ICCWent to the intercommittee camp on the weekend and got to meet new people as well as get the know the ones I already know better!!! Congrats to SarahCongrats Sarah for winning the title of Miss Chinese International!!! We all had faith in you that you'll do well!!! Uni startsUni started on Monday and guess wat!!! For the first time in 3 years, I only have 2 days of uni!!! That's coz I'm only doing 3 subjects = 9 contact hours!!! I'm such a bludger!! I hope the subjects I've picked are interesting enough for me to last til the end of semester... Soooooo.... as far as I can remember, I think these are the highlights of my holidays, except for the meeting up/catching up/coffee-ing/shopping with friends times!!! hehe!! *sigh* back to uni work and some practise....
